In the wake of other more popular people passing away, Monday Oscar Mayer died at the age of 95.
The original company has long since been whored off to food Mecca Kraft but the legacy of Oscar Mayer will live on. It will live on not just because he remarried in 1999 to a 21 year old when he was 85, but for other significant accomplishments.
One significant accomplishment that strikes extra close to my heart and hits the breakfast table of millions every day is Bacon. Oscar Mayer is credited with being the revolutionary behind socializing sliced bacon. For that reason alone, I weep for you Sir Wienermobile.
