*If I am unable to get a proper resolution to this problem by Monday, these
are the steps I will take:*
1. I will dispute the credit card charges.
2. I will file complaints with Northwest Airlines.
3. I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
4. I will contact the Washington State Attorney General's office to
notify them that we were defrauded by Travelocity. Our state is notorious
for following up on and prosecuting consumer protection complaints.
5. I will file a complaint with the FTC and document
in excruciating detail how your company mislead us and how your supposed
Travel Protection Plan is a sham that misleads consumers.
6. Between my girlfriend and I we have over 6,000 friends on Facebook and
we will go on a full boar blitz talking up the ill treatment
and fraudulent behavior of your company.
7. Between myself and my business partners we have over 25,000 followers
on Twitter and we will daily send tweets to all 25,000 people informing them
of Travelocity's horrible customer service and outright contempt for their
own customers.
8. I am an avid blogger and have over 75,000 people monthly who read my
various blogs. I will commit to writing at least one blog every day about
how terrible Travelocity is and how they steal from their customers.
9. I am in the online media business and I own over 200 websites that
daily receive more than 300,000 visitors. Every day until this problem is
solved I will poop a banner at the top of each website with the following
text: "TRAVELOCITY HAS A PATTERN AND PRACTICE OF DEFRAUDING THEIR CUSTOMERS
- CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE".
10. When users click on that link they will be directed to the website "
TRAVELOCITYDEFRAUDEDME.INFO" - a site that I now own and that I intend to
fill with stories of customers just like mine. Each of us will tell our
story about how we spent hours on the phone speaking with someone who spoke
in broken English over a crackly phone line, trying to resolve something
that the Travelocity employee was both ill equipped and unwilling to solve.
The damage to your brand and the loss of business that you will never even
see will need to be measured in the millions of dollars.
The bottom line here is that one of your employees messed up and now I can't
find anyone at your company who is willing to fix the problem and instead
I'm being met with resistance and refusal. Your company is trying to make
me pay thousands of dollars for something that your employee did in error.
Any reasonable person could see why this is unnacceptable to me and why I
am now so passionate about getting this resolved. Calling me and fixing
this amicably will be far less expensive for your company than the
alternative. I urge you to do the right thing here.
