missing dll files:
dhcpcsvc.DLL
DNSAPI.dll

corrupted file:
windows\SySWOW64

no idea what happened, worked yesterday morning, rebooted, got a fuck ton of errors
ie and mozilla both have missing files, cant get on the internet, cant update windows because windows\SySWOW64 is totally corrupt
chkdsk utility runs, starts to tell me how much is corrupted and promptly closes
cant system restore because SySWOW64 is corrupt, and because its a box computer i dont have a windows disk

halp
not sure if this just means the hard drive is fucked, or if i can get a utility to section off the bad sectors and somehow work around it (which would not address the fact an entire folder of windows is corrupt)

iso

Going to need to do some Googling while at the desk IMO

I don't know shit about these kinds of things.

That is the #1 thing I am afraid of buying a computer and building it myself, at least if I shelled out the extra cash for a decent gaming rig, a company is going to at least test it for me.

Just gonna throw my 2 cents into the mix here.

You can partition out the bad sectors and hide the bad sector partitions. However, if you are looking to have a good gaming rig that is working at it's best, the extra partitions are just gonna slow ya down. I'm not current on prices but shell out a few bucks and get a 10,000 rpm disk drive and you will be happy with the investment.

If you have the product key, yes

7200 rpm drives are pretty cheap, but if I was in the market and had the $ I'd love to try a new 15000 or solid state for shits

Hard drive swap on a laptop is easy, only an extra screw or two that stands in your way and they connect directly to a modified card/insert on the motherboard not a cable

What exactly do you need a laptop for immediately anyway?

Give it to the Geekfaggots and be done with it.
