campus internet requires all users to run and log into a security program that assures you have up-to-date antivirus running and your system is clean to not infect the rest of the network, ive used this in the past (and had problems with it in the past, lots of times)

after spending hours configuring this shit and trying to find out why i cant access the network, the tech people here tell me im blocking the program through a firewall. after completely uninstalling/disabling everything, i find out "oops, this shit isnt compatible whatsoever with windows 7"

i have no internet access, no windows cd's for any OS (prebuilt computers never come with actual cds any more), and the vista -> 7 RC doesnt have a "undo" feature

hurray for having to manually back up everything, and reverting to HP factory-shipped settings (pooping from IE7, windows vista sp 1, norton antivirus trial subscription running, shit tons of factory crap running)

tl;dr - shity software requiered for everyone doesnt support windows 7 (lol), had to reformat, couldnt reformat, had to revert to factory settings (pile of shit)

its not as bad as it sounds, you can still use your own AV (provided its on a list of 10 or so that are supported, avast was and thats what i use), theres just lots of compatibility problems with new versions of anything

i just think its lolworthy that this commercial program doesnt support an OS that will soon become the standard for every PC
