Class really doesn't start till 11:30. The reason why I was so early is that I had to go pick up books from the bookstore and then go to that class. I fucked up the time and came like 20 minutes early, but he said that he would always be in the class room a hour before class actually started. So, he was late, but not really late for when class started.

Few schools actually have this rule, a lot of people practice it though.
I have never had a professor simply not show up for class - either it was cancelled and announced, or the professor was late because of unavoidable and serious reasons. These instances include a derailed train, an unanticipated call from Joe Lieberman, to whom he was War Advisor.

I had a teacher not show up once to class since his wife was had just gone to the hospital and he had no time to give an announcement.

And all my classes @ grad school teachers said if we arent here within 20-30mins you can leave since its a 3 hour course

but it was 10mins for prof 15 for doctor in undergrad
