i was watching a show about lottery winners and this old couple won 5.8 million and they chose the lump sum - after all taxes etc, the take home was 1.3 million

old folks got robbed imo

i think you could really go places with the stakem homebrew

yeah lump sum is like 50% of total then taxes are like 40-60% of that then profit

like powerball jackpot = 170 mil, lump sum 87.8, taxes around 40-50mil, profit prolly close to 30mil

seeing as they taken approx. half for tax purposes, does that mean you and your family does not have to pay taxes for like the rest of your lovely life?

you then have to pay taxes on the interest you make from investments for the rest of your life, that is just a one time luxury tax i believe
