Woke up an hour early this morning to drop the wife's car off at the Toyota dealership to have some pre-winter maintenance done. A few weeks ago it was acting up and didn't start. ('97 camry pushing close to 200k miles) took some time and took the throttle body completely apart and cleaned everything around the intake. Car fired right up, awesome. Little bit of fuel injector cleaner on her next fuel up an everything should be grand...wrong. So despite my best efforts it didn't start again last week, so I told her to stop pissing around and make an appointment with someone who knows what they are doing...IE the dealership her father swears by. Coming up on the winter months it proelbay isn't a bad idea to see I they catch anything else that might potentially be/go wrong with it.

Fast forward to today: her appointment was set for this morning. So I go to drop it off and the place is completely renovated. Instead of the usual drop off spot where you lock the car and fill out a sheet of paper and put the keys in an envelope in a safety drop off box, they now have 24/7 drive through support.

I didn't realize what to do at first but a little Mexican decendent of Ozzy directed me where to go. So I pull the car right into the shop and talk to a receptionist. There is no record of our appointment today...which royally pissed me off but is ok because they have an opening available and will take care of it. I fill out the paperwork, give them the insurance cards, keys and my cell # to call when they have an update/tell me when it's ready for pickup.

Having not heard anything all day I just called them...the car is not there, they have no account of it ever being dropped off this morning.

4th time calling was a charm, they answered and said they now have record of it being there but unfortunately they don't know where AND they are sorry to inform me that they found nothing wrong with the vehicle since it started 10 out of 10 tries but they are going to have to charge me $67 for the diagnostics

This is gonna be cute...they think I'm gonna actually pay them for losing the fucking thing and then telling me what I already knew about it HAHHAHa No

Yea I know it +/- 5k miles. If that fucker made a run for the border I'll be able to tell (regardless of burrito marks on the seats)

the lady who i gave the keys to was there when i went storming back through the door

she basically hung her head in shame and said "sorry about the trouble and misunderstanding today if you step through this door you can sign the paperwork and be on your way"
