Didn't knock or ring the doorbell, delivered it a day earlier than scheduled, and I didn't even know that until I checked the tracking status this morning. They left a guitar in a cardboard box on my front doorstep while it was raining, no plastic or anything to protect it. Currently letting it warm up to room temperature before opening so the finish doesn't crack.

Methods of delivery make no sense whatsoever.

In college I built computers for people for some extra bucks for drinking. When I ordered shit they were never consistent. They would let $3,000 worth of processors sit on my front porch all day with no signature required. However, a $50 case would not be dropped off without a signature...

Same with monitors. I got 4 widescreen flat panel monitors and they left them out in the rain with no signature. However, I take it those monitors were packed in multiple layers unlike your guitar m8.

I am very thankful that ESP Guitars packs guitars expecting them to be handled by idiots like this!

The outer box from the distributor was entirely soaked through, the heavy paper stuffed within this to keep the box in place was damp and not firm enough to keep the ESP box in place. The white, rectangular ESP box had a smooth outside that appeared to be somewhat moisture resistant, which is good because it was a bit damp on the outside. This box was very solid and sealed very well, and the inside of it was dry. Within this box was a long box shaped like a very long trapezoid with a short top, perfect for a guitar to fit in - this box was held in place inside the other box by shaped pieces of foam and some packing tape to secure the foam blocks so the guitar would not shift. This box had a lid for the front that included four reinforced sides, fitted perfectly over the bottom part, which also had four reinforced sides - these two pieces were taped shut securely. Within this box, the guitar was wrapped completely in plastic/foam sheets and taped to a dozen foam blocks positioned perfectly so the guitar could touch nothing but foam.

Just got a FED EX delivery and they rang the DoorBell

they called in advance to make sure someone would be there, hand delivered it, then he took me to lonch for being a valued customer

Wow DHL stops operating in the USA and you still get packages? Who did you blow to manage that

It is worth noting that this arrived shortly after two FedEx packages containing fragile items and FedEx knocked on the door and I had to sign for these items. USPS also safely delivered something to my door, and when they do need to leave stuff, they put it in sealed plastic bags.

Than improvise and do a growling version while banging some wooden spoons against some rusty pots and pans.

Yeah, I know the UPS man in our area personally, so he knocks on the door and he knows to put the package underneath a certain area of the porch in case it would rain.

I mainly know him because his son and I played all kinds of sports together.

Plus, my mom and him are really good friends.

So the service I get from UPS as far as the package getting to my doorstep is awesome. I usually talk to the guy for like 10 mins also before he leaves unless he has to get somewhere.
