As DC's local authority on Brewery Ommegang and a Hennepin aficionado, I seek your council.

Have you ever enjoyed vintage releases of Hennepin or only had it fresh? If a vintage was consumed what were your thoughts on it's ability to age: yay, nay, indifferent?

Have you ever sampled their chocolate indulgence?

I've only had it Out of the bottle, Straight from the keg, or off tap, so never vintage. And I have yet to try their chocolate indulgence as well. But if you could get your hands on some aged Hennepin? hoooooooooly shit.

I got an '07 that I'm contemplating putting in my cellar and forgetting about it for a few more years.

I got it as part of a 10th anniversary gift set that has a chalice, 3 philosophers and chocolate indulgence. That bottle of chocolate indulgence is from it's original release. And I know the philosophers being a quad will age amazingly.

Forget about the Philo for 5 years and then drink the bottle and be tanked.

The hennepin will probably taste good as it is now. I would just indulge my friend, you've earned it being the Beer King of DC. (Sorry dan, you've been replaced)

Regarding my Hefeweizen, Oaked Bourbon Porter and Pale Ale...not so much the chocolate stout mishap.

if you want to experience real oktoberfest, then there is only two places you need to visit: nurnberg or munchen

its much closer and cheaper to go to germany from where i live (göteborg) 500-600 km with car
to estonia i have to drive to stockholm same 550 km and then pay for boat
and not to mention the time spend: for germany trip i need about 15-18 hours back and forth
to estonia it must be much longer than a day because of boat
for you estonia is much more cheaper and faster than for me
