i am not a huge fan of pils but this one is pretty good
it has a huge amount of hop character for a pils but not all of it is bitterness, there is a lot of different noble hop characteristics that make it taste somewhat herbal, grassy and also a bit citrus

Just realized that this weekend is the deadline for a regional homebrew contest called War of the Worts.
Which means all 4 of my beers currently sitting in secondary need to be kegged, force carbed to appropriate levels, bottled and delivered by Sunday.

THANK GOD WE ARE SUPPOSE TO GET AN stupid AMOUNT OF SNOW SATURDAY!!! FUCK

In a strange turn of events, my brother randomly messages me last evening saying: "Sam Adams noble pils is pretty good."

that completely caught me off guard because this is a guy who has shunned my homebrew and embraces miller high life and genesee cream ale

Sam Adams Noble Pils is what would happen if you asked Sam Adams to make Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Rogue Double Dead Guy Ale is exactly what I expected of it, I like the regular DGA because it is not as strong, it is much more drinkable and not tiring to drink a bottle of.

Also picked up 12 bottles of Sierra Nevada's summer brew for $8 because it isn't summer.

The noble pils comment is a bit of a stretch but I see what you did there.
That SN summer brew is summerfest not glissade right?

Randomly bought two brews from Trout River Brewing last night

Rainbow Red Ale is our flagship brew. This ale is a well-balanced, easy drinking American-style red ale with fruity esters, nutty malt flavors, and a soft, clean finish.
Rainbow Red Ale tasted like a clusterfuck of fruits, spices and stuff that should not be put in beer, all dumped into a watered down red with a finish similar to overly tannic cheap red wine.

Chocolate Oatmeal Stout - This is a dark, deliciously roasty brew with hints of chocolate in both flavor and aroma. This stout is velevety smooth with a dry, roasted finish.
This one tasted like a cup of instant oatmeal and a fun size chocolate bar microwaved in a gallon of water, with some bile added in so it tastes like vomit (pretty sure this is an overdose of some enzyme used in processing chocolate)

Blue Point's Hoptical Illusion is very good though, it is a very drinkable and very hoppy IPA.

I paid $3 for a 12 oz bottle that was at least 4 years old judging by the label design (they have gone through label changes at least 3 times)

It was good, definately showed off what wood aging can do to a beer but it had a funky almost moldy smell about it that was a bit distracting
