Director Account Development – SI010214
JOB SUMMARY:
Relying on superior strategic leadership and analytical skills, the Director is responsible for developing and driving the global supply team for a hotel-focused business in the portfolio. Core responsibilities will include driving hotel inventory acquisition to maximize revenues in assigned markets, owning and managing inventory mix, rate, and merchandising decisions for xxxxxxxxxx. Additionally they are responsible for managing and motivating a team with a strategic vision.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Design, deploy, and maintain the global supply strategy.
• Develop and maintain regular and consistent partner contact at the executive level.
• The Director should build strong relationships with all partners and have regular contact with each of them.
• Build and develop the market management team and maintain strong executive level relationships across all Travelocity brands.
• Develop/execute strategic plan for meeting market demand.
• Work in tandem with the advertising/sales team to create integrated programs.
• Own the management of inventory in all systems pulled for the business through Global Hotels Extranet, Sabre GDS, and Direct Connect.
• Analyze contracts, rate and inventory reports to gain in-depth understanding of partners in assigned markets. Monitor partner performance. Secure and negotiate competitive rates and inventory to meet room night targets, including peak periods.
• Understand market conditions and trends. Monitor and analyze weekly sales reports to track progress and performance of partners and markets.
• Monitor fulfillment performance by partners and address any problems or concerns.
• Partner with Marketing, Content, Design, Hotel Operations, and Customer Service departments to address content-related or technical issues.
• Work with internal lines of business as well as external partners to merchandise and market product online.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• 5-10 years of demonstrated marketing and general business experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop supply strategies and develop and drive large globally distributed contracting team.
• Strong understanding of Global Hotels Extranet, Sabre GDS, and Direct Connect inventory systems.
• Online, hospitality, or travel marketing experience preferred and GDS sales and service.
• Advertising/marketing experience a plus.
• Hotel, Activity and/or Revenue Management experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong technical/system skills.
• Ability to handle & prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with the travel industry marketing concepts, practices, and procedures.
