Harvistom Ola Dubh 12 & 16 (this is a old ale similar to barleywine that is aged in 12 and 16 year old whiskey barrels respectively, can cost upwards of $18 an 10oz bottle, I'd highly recommend snagging if available for decent price)
JW Lees Harvest Ale (this is a tride and true classic English example of barleywine, the store lists having 4 types already aged and ready to drink now: vintage 07, cask conditioned calvados, port and cherry barrel)
la chouffe n'ice (Belgian style barleywine, listed vintages of '96 & '03)
chimay grand reserve '94 (not gonna lie, it's proelbay a $100 bottle but is a solid example of the Belgian style and a vintage that old would be stupid)
samichlaus vintage '97 (known the world over as the highest alcohol beer for decades, it has been superceeded in abv but a vintage '97 is very rare and should be purchased if located for a fair price)
deschutes: inversion IPA, jubel ale '08, obsidian stout (I think you know these are quality, NN further explanation)
Rogue XS (this is a large format ceramic style bottle with a flip top lid, they come in varying styles. I highly suggest you snag any 1+ year old bottles of old
crustacean barleywine or imperial stout

ones that are nothing special but would buy if the price is right:
schafly reserve imperial stout
stone verticle stupid 7/7/07
Anchor Old Foghorn (if fresh is like an ipa, if aged is barleywine)
Anderson Valley Hop Otin (IPA)
Great Divide Titan IPA (IPA that is pretty common across the board)
Hair of the Dog Dogie Claws (Barleywine that is for the most part overpriced because the demand is consistently greater than supply)
liefmans de boomgard (this is not even beer but if you wanted to entertain a female guest it is a panty remover for sure. It comes in assorted fruit flavors and is like champagne only it is sweet/sour/tart. Other popular companies making the same thing are lindemans and st. Louis)

A popular store is going out of business with an stupid sale and a list of inventory that is 20 pages long

:joe: lives 30 min away and asked me to summarize the list for him for things he should consider buying if he goes.

You can kindly go choke on sock lint Vlad

i still stand for my opinion
you can enjoy good beer experience with out throwing out half of your monthly pay check
having a good pint of carlsberg or heiniken on a outside serving place close to the sea shore on hot summer evening will give you more pleasure than hunting for some rare beer sorts
from a man who claims to be a beer gourmand you became a collector imho
hunt the experience, not some rare beer bottle

If a place is offering rare/hard to find beers that you might not ever have a chance of purchasing again why wouldn't you if you like beer? Especially since they are selling everything at a 10-30% off of their wholesale price

I'm not here to argue about cost of beer verse enjoyment level. I don't get any more enjoyment from a beer that costs $30 verse $3. For me, the thrill of the hunt to find rare beer is just as exciting as actually drinking them.

But vogan does bring up a good point. Some people judge how good something is by how much it costs... I will tell you flat out that it is a give and a take but more often than not I have been disappointed in some expensive beers not being any better than their cheaper counterparts. However, with that being said I have had some expensive beers that are truely amazing and I would love to drink them regularly but don't cuz of price
