I have to fucking agree 1000000% on this.

If you're a character on that show and you're wearing red, and Kirk is like we're beaming down...I'd have punched him in the face.

Rather be tossed out of Star Fleet than be assured of a quick, painful death.

your major doesn't matter when applying to law school

plus i am very interested in psych so a psychologist/psychiatrist would be my fallback

Well, I wasted the governments for the most part, and held down working full time for the most part.

Now I owe the government 33k and make 10 bucks an hour as a temp....

This is what I get for being afraid of physics at the time.

I thought that once too, until I worked with lawyers all fucking day. Be smart, pick a tech or science field.

And no, Political Science is not a science.

I was young, full of hope for the world, and wanted to make it a better place. My plan was lawyer for a while, then going into politics as an adviser, then run for office myself. I honestly had my life mapped out until 2024 (when I would have ran for president). 45 was a good age I felt, young enough to seem vibrant, old enough to not be considered a baby.

Things change. Probably more so for those who engage in the liberal arts than most.

because humanities (all these liberal arts things) are so difficult to predict if you will like them or not, i suggest starting very basic -> specific. if you like humanities, start with history, english, psychology. if you wanna switch you always can. a lot of schools have a pre-law track which you can choose later and still take the basic needed courses for all those majors.

for example, i thought i would love economics, and psychology, and sociology going into college. i hated all of them. just a heads up

also i saw an episode today where some kids took over the ship and sent it out of orbit without the captain's knowledge. kirk proceeds to beem down 2 people in red shirts to scout the planet (first time i can remember him beaming others down that arent himself). ofc those 2 people got beamed into empty space, killing them.

what the fuck you would think there would be safety devices to prevent this type of accident

In the retcon isn't it Scotty who figures out how to use make teleportation possible over large distances?

I thought it wasn't based on a fixed coordinate system, but took in account the 4 dimensions needed (incl time, as warped by gravity) to lock onto someone and bring them to their destination.

a contradiction it seems. the origional series episode i saw used that coordinate system i guess if they accidentally beamed into space if they thought they were somewhere different

Hopefully it works out for ya, because I think it is useless.

Pros go Engineering/Sciene/IT/Business.
