okay, here's the story. a really close friend of mine had this girlfriend, and he broke up with her because shes a god damn whore who cheated on him with several other guys throughout the course of their relationship. after they broke up she immediately tried to start getting with all of his friends (clearly like she hadn't before), and we all told her to go f*ck herself, or so i thought...

over the past few weeks ive been hearing stories about another one of my close friends hanging out with this girl all the time and that they were having sex. this would upset my other friend extremely, especially since he's always talked about how awful it was and how much he hated her, etc.

the worst part about the situation is that i heard they were hanging out from someone else a few nights ago, and he said to me "he says clearly to ever say anything about it to anyone", so he's keeping it a secret from me even, and our other friends. i called him out on it, saying that whatever he's doing he needs to stop now, and all he does is deny it. but this girl calls me all the time and she tells me stories about him too.

is it my place to mention this to my friend? we have all been really close for about 7-8 years now, and i just don't know what to do. i'd want someone to say something to me if one of my friends was doing this behind my back.

tl;dr - friend is most likely having sex with other friend's ex behind his back, i dont know if i should say something to him

If your friend needs to ask you to clearly say anything, he knows he is doing something wrong/unacceptable. Call him out on it privately, then stop talking to both of them. If she was already a cheating whore and this wasn't happening with this guy while they were together, you shouldn't feel obligated to say anything, it's too late for it to matter now. Stop talking to the two offenders and make it none of your business, if anything needs to happen between the two guys, it'll work itself out without you.

While "bros before hoes" is pretty much a frat boy catchphrase, it is pretty solid reasoning. If you are going to date/fuck/whatever a friend's ex, especially in a short period of time, you should talk to him first because friends are more important than getting laid, and most of the time they broke up for a damn good reason and you will avoid problems because of it. Things happen, people move on, people take sloppy seconds, but asking someone to clearly say anything is admitting wrongdoing and uncertainty.

I recently had a friend of many years go behind the back of his best friend and break up/fuck his best friend's girlfriend of 3 years, only to lose all nearly all of his friends and get dumped by the girl six months later for another friend. The only thing that makes it worse is a terrible excuse, at least you could say straight up "I wanted to fuck her".
