bill gull once told me how he liked the concept of video games, because he felt it taught children a lot of skills like problem solving and patience. i dont think you get these from mario cart, but definitely from RPGs because you have to use a lot of strategy.

i would encourage my kid to play rpg video games, in moderation. especially social games online. but once they are out of middle school, i would rather then focus on sports, studies, and work
