currently watching my second "repaired" xbox slowly die on me within an hour of opening the box

Mikey's has been working since he got it for xmas (knock on wood).

It shut down recently (ie kept saying disk drive was open), but I blew out the disk drive and it is fine now.

i used to have to blow into my nintendos cartridges and then bang on the nintendo lightly (but only from the side)

it was a hassle but that usually worked. gl

yea i wish they still built systems like that, now they are near impossible to fix

I always wondered how every kid on the planet knew to blow into their cartridges to get them to work. There was no internet or worldwide communication. Yet, everybody somehow knew what to do.
