So, I do the whole 2 times a year because its good to know whats going on in there in the event there is a problem. since ruining my baby teeth out of lack of care for them, I took pretty good care of my adult teeth.
since then I have had very great teeth, no problems until the visit i had in february. there was a small cavity on one of those molars far the fuck back there, so I figured its a possibility. well the cavity filling process was apparently so minor that i didn't need any anesthesia. I don't like my mouth messed with, so I took better care of my teeth this time. I had another appointment this last week and they took the x rays and what clearly. She starts pointing between teeth and saying these small black dots are cavities.
I don't see them. I said "lady, i see a permanent black dot in my right eye, I know what a black dot looks like, and I don't see any here" the tldr is that she leads me to believe that I have 3 cavities, whilst I sit there utterly confused. this would cost me about 800 dollars since I do clearly have insurance since i normally do clearly have problems with my teeth.
well I went to florida on vacation to see my parents before school starts up and i told my mother of this retarded debacle, so she got me in to see her dentist. i go there and they ask if i brought any of the stuff, which of course i didnt as the idea was just suggested to me. this new dentist calls and asks for the x rays and the action plan (the 800 dollar one) so that she may be able to offer her opinion. they only sent the the xrays, LOL. so my mothers dentist took some of her own x rays (free of charge I might add). i point to the first problem area and she immediately ruled that one out shaking her head in disgust. the other 2 ended up being just teeth that were a little worn down, but could easily be re mineralized with some $12 toothpaste
so in conclusion, $800 turned into $12 by snuffing out a greedy wannabe cosmetic surgeon. ask question when you go to the dentist, most of these people are scumbags
