Letting it be known that I do clearly agree that simply throwing better ram and a video card into a 5 year old pc is going to give it the upgrade in performance that you are looking for.
It will no doubt increase the previous experience visually but this overall assumption is just as bad as people who buy the newest processors thinking that overclocking them and putting in a liquid cooling system is going to make their benchmarks any better than someone with the same cache and front side bus speeds.
Then again I haven't been serious about building computers for a living since early '02-03 so fuck it. Disregard. Besides, my pc is from 2004, most of what I am running are probably artifacts.
