poop your work commute

Mine ended up being 50 mins both ways. clearly nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Actually pretty enjoyable in most parts if I dont have someone slow in front in front of me

Ouch, mine is basically just two lane highway. I occasionally see a dead armadillo

The only time it seems it will be bad is during inclement weather like this morning when it was raining fairly heavily the entire drive. Complete darkness + rain + kicked up water from semis in front of you= awful vision

What is this traffic bullshit you speak of? Last "traffic" incident caused my commute to be just over 2 hours one way.

SNOW on the other hand makes me want to off myself. On days it rains my commute is an extra 20 minutes. When it snows, an extra hour. Last year when we had a moderate snow storm I went in to work, left at lunch and got home at 9:15 pm.

There's no crying in baseball.

you'd think people who live in nordic countries could do that perfectly? hell no
every fucking time its raining here above the average or god forbid it start to snow, every other driver act like they see this natural phenomenon for the first time
every snow season starts here with mass car crashes
morons

I say we just kill the bad drivers in the weather and it will free up space for good drivers

I was in a head on collision with a guard rail due to mechanical failure.
My eyes failed to to mechanically look at the road while reading text messages and the guard rail did clearly mechanically yield to me

What does a tire blowing on impact have to do with this?

Connecticut is this traffic bullshit.
-Highways are way too small to hold the volume of traffic throughout Fairfield county, and there is no viable alternative for trucks to go through/around NYC, anywhere south/southwest of the tri-state area to the northeast.
-Highways are poorly maintained, never modernized.
-Public transportation is a joke, most of the trains are from the 1960s, the newer ones are from the 80s and were purchased from another state who replaced them with current ones. There are hardly any bus lines or any other way of getting anywhere else from train stations other than walking, minus the few biggest cities, where the rest of the transportation network is still detached and pretty much useless. clearly driving isn't a viable option for most people.
-Connecticut drivers are fucking terrible, a friend from Brooklyn observed that everyone goes either 45 or 85+, and gentle curves merit jamming on your brakes until you can figure out to operate the steering wheel. Same goes for hills.

Snow is great though, a light dusting makes a large number of people stay home, anything heavier closes half of the state.

I take the bus/subway since parking in Boston is the worst shit ever, takes 45 minutes to an hour depending. 11.5 miles away, can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour driving in. I get most of my daily entertainment and napping on the MBTA, though.
