I guess it all depends on where you live (what type of house/building/neighbourhood). Where I'm at, I'd rather they leave the package sitting there than give it to a neighbour. That's just ridiculous...

i agree. i live in a big apartment complex and i just cant imagine how leaving a package with anyone other than the complex manager is a good practice.
