Cant fucking believe I gave in and installed this yesterday. I thought i would just check it out and see what its about. 6 hours later I was still playing. Fucking shit.

So what do i need to know? What player class is best for MF?

honestly, i probably know the least about this game on the forum, but if you need some gold to get started, I can get you some after work today
DH/WD seem to have the most killing power, wiz is pretty close. Monk is a good tank/damage mix and barbs really just tank. gold find gear is probably a better idea at the low levels

Im not interested in concentrating on low-level stuff. I want to play through the game and then MF at higher levels. At this point im only really looking at playing with 1 character

NV stack is a buff you get from killing an elite pack which adds 15% MF and GF to you. Blizzards way of encouraging you to farm elite packs in inferno rather than MF boss runs like d2

so noone has any basic noob advice? like im talking simple shit here like hey, monks dont use their fists to attack

im only at like level 7 and already confused with the usage of runes. i am running with daggers in each hand. is that dumb?

inferno is the fourth difficulty, third is still hell

dual wielding is what i did for all of leveling, but 2handers are cheaper if you are buying a weapon from the auction hall

fists of thunder left click attack with the thunderclap rune is the only skill you need to get to 60

Turn on elective mode and advanced tooltips.
Dick around until 60.
Read a FOTM build thread somewhere.
Die in Inferno for weeks.

Assuming you're making a monk :
IMO, Monks are strong but are very gear dependent (more so than any other class)
You need to get items with resistances and armor as mitigating damage is important for 2 reasons:
1.) survivability, you're melee so it's a no brainer.
2.) Monks sustain ability is based off their heals and life on hit. Their heals are a fixed # (I believe it's 7k?) so if you have 70k life(with low armor and resists) and get hit for 15k a hit. It'd be better to have 40k life (with higher resists and armor), and get hit for 7k a hit, and you can heal it all back.

for passives, you're basically stuck with the dex becomes armor one and the all resists = highest resists
so because of the all resists becomes one passive you should pick a single resists like Fire for example.
Gear that has all resists +50 and fire resists +40 would be ridiculously good for you since that is now 90 resists all.
(ideally the items also have dex and vit)
3rd passive is up to you.

Items with LoH (life on hit) are very good for melee classes. (most commonly found on weapons)

I recommend 1 hand weapon with a shield (you can do what ever the hell you want before inferno)
I also recommend faster attacking weapons as the faster you attack - the faster you generate spirit - more spirit at your disposal.
