so my phone will clearly stay charged for more than like 8 hours, let it go for a week or so to just make sure it wasn't a bad charge or something if that's even possible. Never dunked the phone in water or any bullshit like that. It is insured, am i entitled to a new battery or something? phone is over 1 year old.

Sounds like you charged it every night for a long time. Lithium Ion batteries aren't infinite, each time they are recharged their propensity to hold a charge is diminished.
