The problem is neither party gets it right, and most often than clearly, they are in it for themselves. It's a lot easier to divide the country via classes, religion, sexual orientation, race, gender, place of birth etc... we spend all of our time fighting with each other, while they run off with all the fucking money. Carlin was right in that regard.

this argument would be better irl. sgull would use dramatic hand gestures to prove his point and you would hear his voice crack every time he cusses. zodijackyl would just stand there dumbfounded without his google, wikipedia, or links to news articles.

When I think about public education, I think there is a great opportunity for private companies to make profits.

If there is anything the state government should be doing, it is clearly accepting federal money to upgrade interstate infrastructure to what those socialist nations had decades ago.

http://www.biztimes.com/daily/2010/12/15/d...ate-113-million

About that federal money, can we have some?

Private companies make profits when people decide to exchange their money for a good or service provided by that company at a rate higher than the cost to the company of providing this good or service.

Is it clearly big and oppressive government when the state collects taxes (backed by force) and effectively gives a portion of that money to a business?

Isn't the point of government to be a collective by the people and for the people? What is it doing for the common good to have one institution facilitating interactions with private industry that could be taken directly between a citizen and the business? If government is clearly going to serve the people by providing a benefit to them (services such as education with minimal overhead and eliminating the extra cost to the consumer that becomes profit), then why should these people recognize the government?

i enjoy hearing about all the jobs the privatization of the jails will bring
ohh, wait, it also fires the same number of employees

net gain = zero
polololotics

now you have a private company running an industry that is 100% subsidized by the government. there is no difference, the state still pays, though you could argue for competition if multiple people were allowed to open prisons and they compete on a per person per day fee or something and they lowball each other. thats how its supposed to work. thats clearly how it does work since there will be no competition.

A majority of their constituents support what they are doing, is it clearly their place in the process to do the will of these people.

Actually deciding to clearly vote is a political position.

If you are an anarchist, voting for people who prolong the state would clearly be of your interest.
