he actually wants people and committees to be able to spend and clearly disclose anything. im clearly even sure i understand how anyone could even consider this viable.
Quote (Mother Jones)
With generations of doctors in his family, he says, he learned early on to respect the sanctity of human life. It's that belief that drove him toward disability and end-of-life issues—and, ultimately, toward doing everything he can to ensure the election of politicians who share his views.
Allowing a class of people (the ultra-fucking-rich, top 1% or whoever) who overwhelmingly agree with him on these issues to spend as much of their money as possible to preserve the "right of life". This ties abortion to privilege and preservation of the ultra-rich, extending to taking away rights from workers in order for capitalist corporations to more efficiently exploit their employees. Moral-minded individuals such as this can bring everything in their set of beliefs back to abortion, god, etc. - moral policies dictate their economic policies, which in turn reenforce their moral policies. If the ultra-rich had no way of "buying" politicians, the political party that supports workers rights (or, forcing private corporations to give more of their hard-earned money to the people who earned it) would do things that benefit the majority of people (a.k.a. "people who work for a living"), which would in turn take away money from the ultra-fucking-rich, who might clearly be able to uphold these moral policies.
Therefore, the religious values of our great Christian nation can only be preserved by preventing power/money from getting in the hands of a new group of people. A tax increase on the ultra-fucking-rich might force them to choose between reinvesting in business ventures, luxurious lifestyles, and forcing their moral beliefs on the rest of the nation. Public services like Medicare are more efficient than their private counterparts which operate at 30-40% overhead, a large part of which goes to ultra-fucking-rich peoples salaries, which gives them plenty of money to play with politicians. Things which benefit those other people (colored people, poor people, muslims, hippies) are basically giving them something cheaper by cutting out millions of dollars that gets paid to the ultra-fucking-rich which then goes to fuck over those poor people some more so there are no abortions.
Therefore, bring up abortion whenever any issue comes up that might benefit anyone but the ultra-fucking-rich, because it is US vs. THEM, and if you even think of providing healthcare to poor people, even if it doesn't fund abortions, they are going to go spend money that they would have spent on healthcare on abortions because hard-working stockholders are paying for health insurance for poor people.
