I am finally ready to buy a new computer.

I am taking out a personal loan for $2000 next week. This isn't just for a nerdgasm machine, it's to repay a loan over time to bring up my credit score. I have the money to just buy one outright, but building my credit is the goal.

Feel free to design/give ideas on it! NewEgg most likely.

clearly using a credit card is clearly making payments

the interest on it may be somewhere around $200 over the course of a year, that's clearly "a lot", that's less than half of a paycheck or a couple of overtime shifts

you are right, a beginner CC has fucking horrible interest (after the 6 month introductory period - which you could exploit by using that for 6 months then get a loan, pay off CC balance, then work on loan IF YOU DO THIS GET PRE-APPROVED FIRST OFC).

for example i bought my car on a 7% loan. clearly great, but when you factor in early payments (ofc the loan has no early repayment penalty) the overall interest paid is going to be similar to a 5% loan). i just didnt want to be required to pay my max amount.

How much $ you got? and amd is coming out would BD if you dont need it at this instant you could wait for BD CPUs.

If clearly just add a 460 or 560ti GPU to Scott's build. with a 550 psu. DO clearly go cheap on a PSU

He wants a computer, he wants credit, a loan is far better than a cc for this.

Taking out credit for something that will have no resell value and immediately is worth half your investment once you buy it?

Smart economics. Why clearly just save up the cash?

my point of view:

nick is a whiney brat that has a shit life and just complains and doesnt do anything about it
---some time later---
nick leaves home, gets a job, starts doing things on his own
nick is self sufficient at this point
nick is building credit and able to purchase nice things due to his recent success

i am happy for you - no troll intended
