you fail to grasp the fact that things were supposed to be silly so the focus stayed on the music, the act of playing live. you only wish your favorite bands were as genuine.

they probably have 20-30 covers in their standard rotation. all of which have noticeable influence. the talking heads changed the band possibly more than anything else after covering remain in light in its entirety

also, early phish is like listening to straight prog rock minus the "im a dirty addict scumbag" feel.
