This is a copy & paste from MMO-Champion.com forums.

The hardware list has been upgraded with several recommendations from what I originally pooped.

I am most likely going to order this from NewEgg after I watch the football game and have enough cocktails to actually purchase $1700 worth of computer equipment.

Looking for help with a new PC, so here goes:

  • Budget:  $1500ish
    Resolution:  1920 x 1080
Games / Settings Desired:  Ultra, Diablo 3, League of Legends, StarCraft 2, World of Warcraft [MULTIBOXING - processor dependent], the occasional shooter, etc.
Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc):  I'd like to be able to stream my own League of Legends matches
    Country:  USA
Parts that can be reused:  None

This is what I have come up with on my own:

Other things to consider:

  • I am clearly going to  pirate a copy of Windows 7
I do need new input devices, I'd like a mechanical keyboard, but they don't seem to fit my budget
I do clearly upgrade parts often, in fact, I've had two PCs in the last 11 years, and both were Dell's and clearly optimized for any gaming
I am clearly in the mood to wait for Ivy Bridge or GT600/HD7000s
The PSU seems a bit overkill (750), but adding another video card one day is an option
CyberPowerPC.com sometimes runs lots of good specials, unfortunately they don't have many combinations that I am specifically looking for right now, but they are an option
I really like the Fractal Design cases, but I also realize I could easily cut some money there

Thanks for your help!

XtO

those thumb buttons on the mouse will be hell to get used to as well, mine has just the 2 side buttons (back/forward), that i only use for web browsing

at least for shooters, moving your thumb makes it harder to move the mouse to the right if you need to at the instant you move to hit the button
