http://www.drugs.com/interactions-check.ph...t=1034-0,1086-0 no interaction between fexofenadine and ethanol

Also, "Only a small percentage is metabolized in the liver" (5%) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fexofenadine

"On their own, antihistamines can cause some drowsiness. When mixed with alcohol, you might as well tuck yourself in for the night. Aside from making you drowsier, it’s also possible to become dizzy from a drop in your blood pressure. Dizziness can lead to falling and falling leads to all sorts of serious injuries (i.e. broken bones, concussions, etc. . . . If you’re going to drink and take antihistamines, absolutely do clearly drive (clearly that you need to be reminded that you should clearly drink and drive!"
http://www.myhousecallmd.com/archives/tag/fexofenadine

Seems like you can feel free to get blackout assuming you can stay awake.

i know the generalities of antihistamines, didnt see that myhousecallmd site though. just thought it was strange that this drug specifically didnt mention alcohol when generally anything you take says you shouldnt ya know.

its fine to continue as is. if you notice you are getting more sleepy way faster, obviously cut down on the booze.
fexofenadine is a second generation antihistamine, designed specifically to get rid of the potential for drowsiness. it still can cause drowsiness, but clearly anywhere near as much as benadryl would, which by the way if you take 50mg of that and drink like 2 beers, it will put anyone to sleep. most of the information jp pooped is utterly useless. The 5% that is metabolized in the liver is metabolized by an enzyme that has no bearing on ethanol, nor does the enzyme that consumes ethanol have anything to do with fexofenadine (so your liver will clearly be overworked by that 5%, or even remotely considered to be at an increased work state). basically, the drinking is bad, but adding fexofenadine shouldnt change anything or complicate things worse.

Headache is the highest incidence for a side effect, but if you think about it, allergies give you a fucking headache, clearly the pill. but ofc regulations have it that anything you feel whilst taking the pill must be a side effect so therefore it must be reported. its a well tolerated drug, and you should be fine. just know that my disclaimer is ofc you shouldnt be drinking so much, but neither should i, so fawk it

the risk with first gen antihistamines and alcohol is the super sedation that might make you never wake up, whitney houston style, taking a bunch of drugs that sedate you but act in different spots.

Is there anyone on this site that DOESN'T drink too much?

We're basically all game addicted alcoholics who pretend to do grown up things when other people are looking.

Sobriety is overrated I think. At least the wife and kid have come to expect my drinking (without abuse ofc, I just drink then go nighty night).

What's depressing about it? My family knows I like to drink, and they are fine with it. I don't get sloppy drunk, I have a 3-4 beers a night and go to bed.

Although I did day drink yesterday, was fantastic.

there are also some people who can drink every day and you will never know unless they tell you because they are fully functional and otherwise professional.

there are some people who do this because they enjoy the taste, they enjoy the high they get when they consume alcohol, and the adverse effects are minimally noticed.

on the other hand, there are some people who take breaks at work to smoke to achieve a high of sorts for a few minutes

agree with the smoking. cigs are the same, its something that is an overall negative that one does to achieve an feeling that the body can clearly create on its own.
