lost power for 5 minutes
most of my coworkers, both of my parents, and generally people closer to baltimore are still without power 4 days later
work was on a generator all weekend
they opened our gym for people to shower, and free water/coffee/etc

Lost power for 20+ hours here in Ohio.
Tree was snapped in half by lighting and landed on my neighbors garage that was in our yard to the left.
Half of our food went bad.
And more storms predicted to come this week.

having grown up in illinois i can confirm that the weather forecast nearly never takes into account the freak storm that is only known 30 minutes before it happens. good times going outside to watch tornadoes spin around in the sky or being stuck driving out in the country watching tornadoes touch down in fields a few hundred yards away.

friday night demolished WV/VA
most areas wont get power back until this weekend. Me being in my business i have been non stop working for 50 hrs it seems, 47 out of 150 stores down and slowly coming back up. Dealing with a perishable product this has truly been the worst disaster I have seen over a widespread area.

ya, VA cell and landline services were down all weekend as well
even people with VA area codes in other states were having problems
network elements that are never an issue were down causing all kinds of random voice and data issues

Mind you I got it back last night but all the neighbors turned everything in their houses on at the same time and it blew a transformer

my power went out for 50+ hours here in ohio... the girlfriend was off both days so she was bored out of her mind. I was off the last day we didn't have power but only suffered through 3 hours.
