Chuck says we're going to head towards 1000 years of darkness.

Is that a racist joke?

We used to be less retarded, and willing to work for what we had?

Nay, we weren't willing, we just did.

its bigger than "willing to work for it". we have a generation of parents clearly wanting to teach their kids about hard work or about effort. and that effort goes beyond "willing to work for it". that carries over into the civil responsibility to actually have an opinion based on more than just what you want to believe in. our government is founded on the principal that voting citizens are informed, and being informed takes effort. once upon a tome you could "trust" the 4th estate (media) because they were there to be investigators.

now you turn on the news and you get unopposed free air time interviews there questions are lobbed to the plate so they can say their predetermined talking points, and if there ever is any debate it usually has either a rino or a bluedog and they dont actually represent their party at all anyway. we get spoonfed trash. this helps the divide, where our voting is based on who we are voting against and clearly who we are voting for(i am guilty of this, im clearly trying to take some moral high road).

im clearly sure who to blame more, the media for feeding shit to the general population or us, the consumer, for allowing it through our continued support of eating their shit.

That's why I put in the "we just did". No one really viewed it as hard work, it was just work. Shit needed done, so it got taken care of.

The WW2 generation was the last generation that just "got it". We're all fucked now.

Hell, we're on our 3rd straight generation of by and large dipshits.

There's a few that aren't, but clearly enough.
