The wife and I are taking the kiddo to the aquarium Saturday late afternoon/early evening.

Any suggestions for what else we can do Sat night? Planning on leaving early Sunday morning to get breakfast and head back to pee yay.

Also maybe condom can chime in here with last minute awesome tips/prices for a hotel in/around the harbor.

when was the last one?
if referencing facespace pic from florida or north carolina, there was no alcohol involved in that. that was a crash and burn after driving all night while everyone else slept in the vehicle

I just assume you're always drunk and no vacation is going to stop a routine.

little italy in baltimore is pretty fun, and you can walk (safely) from the aquarium/inner harbor there

i dont know if you like touring old naval ships, but theres 5 you can see including the old constellation. most of the inner harbor, instead of the aquarium, is the shopping/fancy restaurants. sadly, baltimore doesn't have a ton to offer downtown other than bars.

you could also see a movie at the theater in the inner harbor, if you wanna kill some time after dinner.

orioles are out of town this weekend :(

let me know if you want any suggestions on food

watching a movie or any sort of sports event is out of the question. the babbies needs entertained and can hardly sit through a meal let alone a movie or sporting event. walking to/from/around little italy seems like a must. walking makes both the females quite happy

we could use a suggestion for food saturday evening. the only meal that is for certain is captain crunch french toast and crab eggs benedict at the blue moon sunday morning

alright, places i've been to and really like:

Fogo de chao - brazillian steak, all you can eat, 50 bucks a head for adults. really fancy and fantastic
http://www.fogodechao.com/index.php?id=164

sabatino's in little italy - delicious italian, self explanatory. 20 dollar entree probably is average
http://www.sabatinos.com/

also in little italy is Vaccaros - amazing pastry/ice cream dessert place. expect you and your wife to gain 5 lbs there because its that awesome
http://vaccarospastry.com/

phillips seafood is a baltimore thing, but its a chain and clearly super exciting, but they have a new location now and i havent been since they moved
http://www.phillipsseafood.com/

^^these are all in walking distance to/from the aquarium. if you are willing to drive, theres brewers art, which has great food and beer. they have a bar (dungeon style) or a formal dining room
http://www.thebrewersart.com/

one place i haven't been to but my friends have told me about it is The Rusty Scupper. you can sit overlooking the harbor and they are supposed to have great crab cakes
http://www.selectrestaurants.com/rusty/

if you want a chain type of place theres also bubba gump and mccormick seafood. both are ok but id go to one of the other places first.

theres some tapas bars and more "fancy" places if you want some master chef making your food and charging you a ton of money for a small plate of something. however, anything in little italy is going to be good

they rent like little dragon boats in inner harbor, if either of em get too squirmy, push em off into the harbor

/e holiday inn express isnt too bad, it's on north gay street, bout 4-5 blocks from inner harbor. i think it runs like 120/night. and sleep inn is right next door, have heard good things about it too. might be a touch cheaper

chain places right at inner harbor: cheese cake factory, five guys, chicago grill, hard rock cafe

If you are going to rehoboth, you should drink their brewpub exclusives. Those are the ones that you can only drink there and they do clearly allow growlers to go. Palo Santo and Theobroma are distributed.

As for the specifics:

Leaving around 8 a.m. tomorrow and doing a bit of shopping in PA. Planning on checking into our hotel shortly after noon. Grabbing a bite to eat and going to the aquarium. Then walking around little italy and we are going to eat at whatever catches our attention. Maybe walk around some more after eating and do whatever the ladies want. Call it an early night and wake up early to hit the blue moon on the way out.

When I was in Baltimore, I saw ads for the zoo that highlighted that they served beer. Sounds pretty cool to me.

went to Sabatinos

the people/service was exceptional. they made us feel like family and were very accomodating

the food was absolute trash. my wife got veal that tasted like jerky with extra salt added. side of spagetti was like noodles with ketchup. my daughter seemed to like it though

i got a bowl of mixed seafood, they successfully became the first place to ever overcook shrimp and lobster so bad that I couldnt tell them apart. the clams and muscles were also overcooked to the point where they were gritty and in pieces. to top it all off, the pasta tasted like dirty dish water

bill was $70. i paid and left a $14 tip because the service was awesome. i felt stupid for clearly telling them how fucking bad the food was. so we walked across the street and got pizza.

considering it would have cost us less to go to fogo de chao... what a kick in the dick

went to Sabatinos

the people/service was exceptional. they made us feel like family and were very accomodating

the food was absolute trash. my wife got veal that tasted like jerky with extra salt added. side of spagetti was like noodles with ketchup. my daughter seemed to like it though

i got a bowl of mixed seafood, they successfully became the first place to ever overcook shrimp and lobster so bad that I couldnt tell them apart. the clams and muscles were also overcooked to the point where they were gritty and in pieces. to top it all off, the pasta tasted like dirty dish water

bill was $70. i paid and left a $14 tip because the service was awesome. i felt stupid for clearly telling them how fucking bad the food was. so we walked across the street and got pizza.

considering it would have cost us less to go to fogo de chao... what a kick in the dick

sorry, food wasn't so terrible when we were there

How do you go from good to "wasn't so terrible"?

I asked my wife if she remembered Evan from our last DC meetup. She said yes and confirmed his identity and followed up with: "dont blame this on him." LOL

We tossed around the idea for a bit that maybe we just hit it at a bad time or chose the wrong stuff from the menu. Oh well, no biggie.

Meh, maybe, pretty sure we both ordered pasta dishes, and it was good for me at least. Maybe i just love gnocchi and sausage. We def won't be going there again though if you said it was bad.

How the aquarium is fun, my wife wants to go to the blue moon place sometime.

blue moon will ruin you for life...you have been warned

the captain crunch french toast is fucking biblical. i dont even like captain crunch but what it does to the french toast is unreal...
i got 3 slices of it as a sort of dessert after my eggs benedict that were amazing. maryland crab style, remove the canadian bacon and insert lump crab meat? yes please!

it has been 3 years since we were last there. and the food remained stellar. prices have gone up a bit though which is understandable because its popularity sure as shit isnt diminishing

the aquarium was cool. it seemed like it was smaller than i remember it. they had some sections closed off for renovations. my daughter was going nuts screaming "fishies" to the point where i think she was hyperventilating.

hahahaha. did you see the dolphin "show"? i put show in quotes because it was super lame when we saw it...

they make a big deal out of the jellyfish, but to me they all look the same and are pretty boring. my favorite is the octopus, and sea turtle
