some things honestly can. but its about the material cost, clearly the labor cost. simple things that the bulk of the cost is material cost, thats whats coming back to america. ive seen it at my job, there are two thing in particular. laborious things wont come back because thats tips the scale ofc.


If the majority of the cost is materials and clearly labor then yes, I suppose if we can get the supplies cheaper they can return. However those still sound like unskilled types of jobs that we need to get out of (for the most part).

we make this cheap ass vinyl flag. its simple. cut a square from a roll of material and sew a hem. its cheaper for us to make it than to import this. the material is sourced from china even. but because taxes and duties and freight weigh so much more as a percentage of this product its cheaper here. my point is neither of the labor steps involved are skilled. they are very unskilled. but because there is nearly no labor involved the taxes outweigh the perceived labor savings.

Yeah, I think we agree on this. I just don't see how jobs like that staying in here help? Unless they're paying more than I'm assuming? I suppose if the demand is high enough you can charge whatever and the profits (don't shoot me) trickle down to the unskilled employees.

its clearly that its a job in itself, but it is solid work to help round out a few position that take sewing skill for the other 80% of their workload.

i dont know why i watch those things... regardless of the questions, both of them just say what they want to say - they both just have different tactics for veering off topic. really the only thing that these debates do for me is make me dislike romney more. i feel like he's such a brat during these things, just talking over everyone and talking way beyond when they ask him to stop and just demanding he get the last word and even if they say no he just talks anyway.
