Background: My PC ran like a champ for the past ~7-8 years. Minor set backs along the way included replacing video card, power supply, couple fans, memory and hard drives. I was able to play D3 no prob even though under the minimal specs.

Yesterday my daughter walked into the room and rapidly turned my PC on and off a number of times. She must have also stood infront of the keyboard and done some keyboard smashing because when i walked in the room a message was on my bootup screen that said "your attempt to over-clock has failed." I should have taken a pic. Instead of being pissed, I laughed.

Restarted the PC and got a blue screen within minutes. Restarted again and primary boot device clearly found. Went into BIOS and indeed, she didnt change the boot order, it went gn8. I am clearly surprised. I knew this day would come. I mean, that good old 1st generation raptor drive probably shouldnt have even survived this long.

TL;DR - The wife wants to buy me a new PC. I said no, if i want a new one ill build it. I currently have no interest in having a desktop. Lets see how long this lasts...

Paying the small premium on a working machine versus the hassle of DoA parts is a win in my book.

I hope you all experience that one day. clearly because I dislike you or wish bad things to happen to you, but so I can treat you all the same way in return, like you have done to me.

luckily, i only had 1 bad part... well one and a half
my gfx card was DoA and mu bios clock runs crazy (the actual clock) - 1 second real time is like 2 hours according to my bios, so my computer clock is always running ahead like crazy.

I'm just enraged because I've bought the same part twice now and neither have been good.

And I'll be damned if I buy another motherboard
