field museum (ofc)
museum of science and industry (this may or may clearly be exciting, check what they are currently exibiting)
art institute (highly recommended, 2nd largest in us)
like architecture? frank lloyd wright house
Adler Planetarium (oldest planetarium in america)

basically, go here

i love museums, and i think you are right about the science and industry, sometimes the exhibits arent that great. totally forgot about the art institute.
