is there a special place a file would be saved on my mac that i cannot readily see or search for?

like i downloaded it from an email and saved it as, saved throughout and its fucking gone. i didnt delete it either

if you know the file name you should be able to just search and it will show up. there are no unsearchable folders that i know about... most likely if you saved as it ended up in documents or downloads. possibly desktop. are you sure you are searching for the right name?

also, unless you deleted the e-mail, the original file will be there ofc, im sure you have thought of this though

i got the file from an email, then spent 2 hours editing and formatting it, now it doesn't exist on my computer.
i save constantly, so it was saving somewhere on this comp

you cant go in whatever formatting program you were using and look at recent documents?

you could also search in finder for most recent documents

macs make great laptops / tablets / phones. however, for each there is another manufacturer who makes them just as well.
