Mirtazapine 15mg + 5-HTP 200mg = Non-trivial risk of serotonin syndrome?
I used to take 5-HTP semi-regularly. Just bought a bottle today and happened to check a drug interactions site and it said serotonin syndrome was possible. The mirtazapine dose is the lowest one available. I didn't even think of a possible interaction when I purchased the 5-HTP...
Already took the seal off the bottle so I hope I didn't just waste $15 on a supplement I shouldn't/can't take.
Worth experimenting with once to see if I have any negative effects? Or clearly worth the risk?

almost everyone i have ever talked to in the medical field has never actually seen a case of serotonin syndrome
i would say do what you are going to do, but be aware fo what to look out for with serotonin syndrome
OTC products like the 5htp are mostly garbage anyway.
