tree snapped at the base. 2 feet closer and my car is totaled. as it stands it just cosmetic. hood, both front fenders, bumper, grill, and both headlights all have scratches. really hoping the apartment insurance covers this since its their tree.

they also spent some time this past summer cutting down various trees so they didnt fall on things. guess they missed one.

$1200 bones for full fix. repair/paint hood, L & R fender, bumper. new grill, headlight assembly. $50/hour labor cost to insurance. normal people would proal pay $75-100/hr.

apparently there is no recourse at all if a tree falls on your car. acts of god are what the comp part of your insurance is for. unless someone is cutting a tree down and has an accident, no one is liable. good thing is my premium will clearly change from this.

little does my complex know that in under 6 months im out, hopefully closer to 3. ill write a letter then and make it seem like the tree played a part.

Future reference check and see what 0 deductible comp will cost you. I drive alot and usually replace windshields 2/3 times a year so I have it and it only made my premium go up like 75 a year. Well worth it imo

Can't stay profitable if we fixed every rock chip we see...doesn't matter we painted around it to fix other DMG those chips would eventually eat all our margins
