Extreme Napalm Terror - Impulse to Destroy

This album is so horrible that it's kinda good. It's such a blatant ripoff of early Napalm Death and Extreme Noise Terror, but it's not like they try to hide it. The band didn't even have guitarists, yet they had two vocalists. They didn't even come up with song titles for this record, just "Part 1" through "Part 34". Their record label, Metal Enterprises, was notorious for churning out rushed, one-off projects because at the time, you could sell a thousand copies of anything that was called metal.

...and I have two of their albums to review!

Havent given it a proper listening yet, but a lot of fans though they died when claudia left. I liked DFD a lot but I do miss their less dancey more ethereal stuff like Sempiternal, Half Asleep and Connjur. I hope they bring a bit of it back and dont go all pop all the time.

Excellent album. Do you like a lot of death/thrash? "Emerging From The Netherworlds" is a great album. More similar old Dutch extreme thrash - Pestilence's "Malleus Maleficarum" and "Consuming Impulse". I really enjoyed the two Hail of Bullets albums - they're a supergroup of guys from Thanatos/Asphyx/Gorefest.

NP: Lethal - What They've Done

Been listening to a lot of USPM: Enchanter, Lethal, Liege Lord

When I first wanted to expand my Metal palette I thought "What would Steve listen to" So I literally went to your FB page and saw em, I wasn't disappointed. You should recommend me some more, since I'm kind of new to this genre.

Ok so I can give you a full review now

I think that it's kind of like zero dream pop now, if any little.
Which isn't bad for the music put out but might be Claudia's influences gone as she left.
The CD isn't bad, they still have very interesting build up and structure, but it's way more dancey than even DFD.
I really enjoy white wind and lafaye.
Not into the last track, since this band is known for really strong finisher tracks (My Cabal and The Wait > When you sing)

I'm a bit late, but here's a few albums I'd start with:

Acid Bath's "When The Kite String Pops" (1994) - Tough to describe, it's a mix of blues-rock and sludge/doom metal. Dax has a great voice for both singing and screaming, the rest of the band were quite dynamic, managing everything from acoustic stuff to extreme metal.
Bolt Thrower's "Realm of Chaos" (1989) - Loose and rough, chaotic low-tuned old school death metal.
Darkthrone's "Transyvanian Hunger" (1994) - The prototype for the lo-fi, simple black metal. Often imitated because it's so easy to do, but the original has an odd charm.
In Flames' "The Jester Race" (1995) - Melodic death metal. Tons of layered guitars, melodies and harmonies.
Liege Lord's "Master Control" (1988) - US power/speed metal, the vocalist is kind of like Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden. It's catchy and pretty accessible.
Watchtower's "Control and Resistance" (1989) - Technical thrash metal. Eclectic and odd-timed, there's a lot of cool stuff going on.

NP: Gorefest - Horrors In A Retarded Mind
