although it is kind of retarded that the thousands of hours they invest in LS that they lose it in one server crash and nothing gets refunded or restored

Rolling back is basically resurrecting people who died.

And when you die on HC, you aren't supposed to come back.

correct me if im wrong, but random server disconnects which cause you to die with no way to prevent it other than to not be playing at said time; arent supposed to be part of the game either

Actually it is part of the game.

It is a flash based game ran off a server.

It says before you make a HC Char, That you agree that no matter how you die, you will not be resurrected.

Apparently it went down due to someone was trying to hijack something or attempted to mess witht he server.
