I was playin fps games approx 5 years before lollege. 28.8k modem dialup on a hijacked epix account.
It took like 3 years until I ever saw someone with a ping under 250.

Wolfenstein 3d and doom were the first i played. I remember the day a m8 and I went out to buy a hundred pack of floppy disks so we could copy the game over to his computer.

I also remember when valve released half life, I nearly pooped my panties and was addicted from that day on. *Insert here self proclamation about beta versions of counter strike in 1999 where there were only 3 guns and you picked them up in packs on the ground.*

quake and sof were the first multiplayer ones I played, you learned to use lag to your advantage

ive also played fps since doom2 on 28.8 dialup with m8s, but i was also only about 11 years old

for competitions my clan wasn't active enough to be a real good team because we didn't practice enough and we didn't have strat for every map. Most matches ended up being one guy barking orders at the rest of us. I usually ended up as a ringer for other best friend clans in organized play

the stress of people who are seriously competitive made it no longer fun. I remember an irl m8 confronting me one weekend and told me that I ruined his life and plans for going beyond Cal-IM because I missed a game saving headshot through a wall

The only thing good about golden eye (for the 64 or whatever console that was) was that if someone camped you, you could punch him in the face because he was no more than 10 feet away from you in the same room

For console goldeneye is one of the best.

Cool. Like I said I don't care for Console games that much and when I played Goldeneye, I was like cool and that was it.

It's been that way with any console fps game.

The only games I like on console is sports, a few turn based rpgs and action rpgs. Other then that I won't play anything else on them.
