#1:  im kinda plugged up, nothing distinguishing from the smell, smells good though, like a beer
its very dense, or maybe the right word is dirty, in appearance.  murky?
i like it.  maybe a touch too much carbonation, initial drink seems like i notice it.  odd though that i get next to no head but i kinda noticed it.  half through now though and no carb taste.
its good, i like it.  has a very nice aftertaste. i could drink this beer regularly and be happy.
this reminds me of a blonde.

Too much carb but no head... Interesting

usually my friends biggest complaints are that my beers always produce a huge head. But then again they are drinking from the tap not the bottle. Hmmmm I'll have to look into that. It's a work in progress and the feedback is much appreciated. Good, bad or indifferent please keep the comments
coming. And I stress on needing your feedback on what you didn't like about anyone of them. The more negative feedback I get the better so I can work these issues out.


i may be confusing a flavor on the carb. you know when you have a pop that the syrup is running out and the carb is real in your face? there is just a touch of that, but as ive drank the first, and now second, its diminished. as i said distinguishing what im tasting is something im not good at aka my palette is not good, though i do know when im tasting multiple things, i cant for the life of me act like i taste ginger behind the faint maple wood flavor as an aftertaste to the hint of lemon

either way, i really like this beer, its got an odd lingering flavor that i dont think ive ever tasted. not bad, just something i cant quite put my finger on.

looks as black as malcom, seth is not as black though

smells like coffee, can smell the alcohol a bit
initial drink is pure chocolate, ends with the bourbon lasting flavor
i think this should have been just a bit colder, this is room temp

the more i drink the more chocolate flavor is lasting, the less coffee that stays, maybe because i drink coffee daily

AMAZING STUFF


this looks like a beer that will be my entry point to enjoying beer

Ok after taking word filtering into consideration I think I understand this without the verbal explanation I was looking for on vent. #1 was my double IPA. I used a pound of hops, 75% of which were added in the last 20 minutes of a 2 hour boil. I tried to go for a ton of hop flavor without too much bitterness but It came up short. I'm gonna brew it again but with different hops and try to make it crystal clear instead of hazy

Most big breweries use pellets from a major hop distributor like hop union. Pellets just makes shipping easier for breweries like this that go through tons of hops....just saves them space without sacrificing quality. But that's a while different topic/debate

The "green" beer looks alot like homebrew due to clearly being filtered

and is it normal they use the yeast for like 48 batches or some shit?

The barleywine I made tastes like it has hints of bacon in it due to the 2 pounds of pete smoked barley. Took gravity readings and it clocks in at 12% alcohol.

I'm loving this time of the year. Both my hop varieties made it though the winter and I'm placing an order tonight to expand to 6 different varieties total.

My cascades are already 10 inches tall and brewers gold have broken the ground and are about an inch.

Also had an awesome surprise when I got home from work. My wife's cousin who works for Pepsi dropped off 4 soda kegs that were deemed no longer useable. They are in nearly perfect condition compared to the kegs i've been using. This means i can expand my tap list from 4 beers to 6 or 8. Pretty fucking excited.

Also had an awesome surprise when I got home from work. My wife's cousin who works for Pepsi dropped off 4 soda kegs that were deemed no longer useable. They are in nearly perfect condition compared to the kegs i've been using. This means i can expand my tap list from 4 beers to 6 or 8. Pretty fucking excited.


Just got a txt from the fellow who dropped these off. He wanted to know how long it would take for me to fill them so he could help empty them LOL. He was a light beer drinker who has been seemingly converted and interested in trying micros as well

having a crisis here... 2 homebrew competitions are approaching quite rapidly
this weekend do i:

1. brew 10 gallons of my hefeweizen as i previously planned because i want to see what the exact same beer with 2 different yeasts strains taste like
2. brew 2 completely different beers to expand my options for the upcoming competitions
