If you never drank a sour beer before, this will fuck your sense of taste.

For an american wild ale/flemmish red, I was pissed at the way it smelled. It was like a typical belgian style. It actually initially smelled identical to Troeg's mad elf. Then as it warms up and you take your first sip it nearly kicks your teeth out of your face through your nose...

The beer situation in Pennsylvania has gone from bad to ugly to fucking retarded...

The Liquor enforcement board along with state troopers has been raiding bars and now distributors searching for beer that is not registered as a distributed beer in PA. 3 major bars in Philly had over $7,000 in beer confiscated. These bar owners have until the weekend to prove their beer is registered...even though all the beer came from a PA distributor, these bars have to prove it is registered in PA.

What the fuck happened to innocent until proven guilty? My basis for being pissed is that some items taken were beers served in over 300 bars in PA. Duvel for example was taken because it appears on the PA registry as Duvel beer, not Duvel Belgian Ale.

All of the beer that was taken is currently being held in a "secure location." IE, it's already ruined and has already caused a severe monetary punch to an already hurting economy.

They are depriving themselves of the revenue and taxes paid on the individual drinks being served and bottle purchases not being made!

A one time name registration which is significantly less than even a fraction of the amount of money made on the individual purchasing taxation that takes place multiple times throughout the "3 tier" system that PA uses to regulate beer

Why don't you redirect your comrades towards the faggots on welfare, selling drugs to kids instead of picking on people trying to make a legit living.

Oh that's right, these are decent cooperating people who won't pull a gun on you so it will be easy to give them a hard time without repercussions.

looks as black as malcom, seth is not as black though

smells like coffee, can smell the alcohol a bit
initial drink is pure chocolate, ends with the bourbon lasting flavor
i think this should have been just a bit colder, this is room temp

the more i drink the more chocolate flavor is lasting, the less coffee that stays, maybe because i drink coffee daily

AMAZING STUFF

youngs double choc stout
pretty solid, though i could see how if you were a stout guy this would be a good, average beer. nothing sets it apart outside that it just seems smooth

Stone Imperial Stout is a very serious beer, it took me a full period of a particularly bad Rangers game to finish a glass of it.

Saranac's Irish Stout is pretty good, especially considering the cheap price ($8 out the door for a 6pack at a corner store). Very drinkable, one of Saranac's best. I like this company quite a bit for being cheaper than most micros yet maintaining highly drinkable beers all around.

Nothing short of stupid. Had a 10 oz glass of both pliny's. Got to the place a litle over an hour before they opened and had the 3rd glass poured from the keg of both elder and younger. Sadly as amazing as this beer is there was a noticable difference in it from when I had it last month. For a beer with 11% alcohol (the younger) it drinks like there is no alcohol in it at all. The way it smells is so amazing it's hard to believe that different blends of hops can give that many different aromas. Besides the normal hop spices like citrus, grapefruit, pine and grass this actually smelled a little like pineapple juice and a very minor amount of something similar to bubblegum and/or cotton candy.

Also drank a glass of consecration and supplication and had 6 different samples of other rare stuff they had on draft.

moving my stakem tastings here fyi

#1: im kinda plugged up, nothing distinguishing from the smell, smells good though, like a beer
its very dense, or maybe the right word is dirty, in appearance. murky?
i like it. maybe a touch too much carbonation, initial drink seems like i notice it. odd though that i get next to no head but i kinda noticed it. half through now though and no carb taste.
its good, i like it. has a very nice aftertaste. i could drink this beer regularly and be happy.
this reminds me of a blonde.

Truth be told I've always been interested in the artistry behind the homebrews of beer and wine. I can't lie I'm not much of a drinker but I'd hope to be able to make this whenever I get my own place of living.

moving my stakem tastings here fyi

#1:  im kinda plugged up, nothing distinguishing from the smell, smells good though, like a beer
its very dense, or maybe the right word is dirty, in appearance.  murky?
i like it.  maybe a touch too much carbonation, initial drink seems like i notice it.  odd though that i get next to no head but i kinda noticed it.  half through now though and no carb taste.
its good, i like it.  has a very nice aftertaste. i could drink this beer regularly and be happy.
this reminds me of a blonde.

vn1 mr stakem

I don't remember which are which but I wrote them down...I think. I'll look tomorrow.
Too much carb but no head... Interesting

usually my friends biggest complaints are that my beers always produce a huge head. But then again they are drinking from the tap not the bottle. Hmmmm I'll have to look into that. It's a work in progress and the feedback is much appreciated. Good, bad or indifferent please keep the comments
coming. And I stress on needing your feedback on what you didn't like about anyone of them. The more negative feedback I get the better so I can work these issues out.

Sidenote: 2 of them will look cloudy because I crushed my grain a little too small and didn't do certain things during the brewing process that are known to clarify them. There is nothing wrong with them, I just wasn't primarily concerned with clarity for the 2 in question. I will next time though
