Also, fuck the Magic and Stan Van Gundy's haggard face.

quoteworthy

yeah the celts have done well vs the cavs, and if lebron isn't healthy, they're going to be buzzing around for a long series

the hawks aren't great but they shouldn't be losing that badly to the magic. everyone knows that dwight howard and vince carter are betas, not alphas, so u can get in their soft heads. foul carter hard, stick a body on dwight, and live with the result. 43 or w/e pts is an unacceptable margin. 10-20, OK, they are the better team anyway. the hawks need to get big numbers from smith and he will need some help. i can see them winning some games but they just gave howard and carter free tickets to ride their asses for a sweep.

spurs have been a huge wall for the suns in the playoffs for the past decade

dragic had the best game of his career, on the road, against the spurs, in the playoffs

i'm p sure it matters

have to agree with the lobster here
they look better this year, but then again the spurs are probably just older-er. i have some fear that they will get smashed when they play a team with 3+ legit options in the post. lakers, cavs, celtics...then again if you go big you need to guard the perimeter and the fast break somehow. i think the cavs are the worst possible match-up for the suns. the lakers are bad, if they can get the ball inside often. but the suns can outrun the lakers. actually if howard plays well, the magic coud pound the crap out of the suns. CRAP, i think they're screwed.

okrahoma was supposed to be a running team, too, though. and i don't think deron williams is slow...

much obliged to say that nobody seems to notice gasol has 0 vertical, a weak OUTSIDE shot, 0 lateral speed, 0 quickness, etc. kobe is a much better post player (size-relative). height is a big deal. if bynum was 5`11`i`m 100% sure he wouldn`t score a point in a game vs me in 1-on-1 up to 11, counting 3`s for 2, 2s for 1.

f*ck the lakers and their gigantism. odom, kobe, etc are all huge in their positions.

go suns, go cavs ... i`m not against the celtics but i prefer the cavs.

show me any video showing him having good lateral speed and i will be surprised

he has absolutely no lateral speed or quickness. for his SIZE, he runs the court very well and he's OK at best on quickness. very few big men are quick. david robinson is an example of a quick big man. gasol is relatively quick, but he's slow as hell. a guy who probably runs a 5.3 on the 40 is horribly slow. i don't give extra credit for size.

u seem bothered. all i'm saying is that gasol isn't quick enough to guard the perimeter at a high school all-star level; i don't see cause for debate. for his size, he's reasonably quick. that doesn't mean he's not a huge sloth. i will take the dare to run any obstacle course or lateral relays vs him to make the point clear. it's not like i'm saying he's as slow as yao ming or something.

if u can show me a video of gasol with > 30" vert i will drop all claims.

lebrah weaked out. hoping for the suns, but it's an unrealistic dream.

suns also looked flat-footed on defense. ofc you will have fouls when you are always out of position.

yea their footwork was garbage and while gasol had some very nice moves many were made out better than they truly were because of poor positioning

i know the suns are not a great defensive team but i really have a hard time believe they are that bad after watching the last previous playoff series

i agree with him here, tbh. the refs called an absolute horseshit game. if i was in charge of that shit, i'd do a review on the game. the lakers normally get a lot of calls, but this was pretty outrageous.

to be sure, the suns play horribly and the lakers played well. the refs didn't turn this into a loss but i honestly think that was the worst ref'd game i've seen in 2010. hills technical was bullshit, he wasn't given the call wehen kobe fouled him on the other end (was it a 3 or a deep 2? kobe recovered his "i didn't do it" position too late), another foul was bs when kobe initiated the contact and hill did nothing wrong (had good position), and i'm pretty sure i saw another bs foul that i don't recall atm.

the only good foul called on someone covering nash was fisher's smack around play. otherwise i'm pretty sure the lakers could've grabbed his dick, jerked him off, kicked his balls and gotten away w/o any calls. i'm a purist about the game and while the nba misses almost every possible call for sake of entertainment, they were much worse than usual in this fiasco. the suns should launch a protest in case the game could be nulled based on cheating by the refs. they got destroyed anyway but it's worth a shot based on what i saw.

The lakers 3pt shooting came back down to earth and the suns were still below average yet won.
The zone defense was pretty effective considering how often the lakers settled for 3pt shots and Lopez is key for the suns, he played huge.

pretty much everything went the suns way

nash wasn't great but he had 15 assists
stoudamire had 40+ pts
lopez scored 20 pts(brook lopez???)

not to mention it was a game 3 at home that they absolutely had to have

i agree on that gentlemen

lopez was outdoing himself on offense, but now i think expectations can be raised for him for future yrs
stoudamire was a beast on offense
A-1 game plan, lakers failed to adjust

the lakers looked retarded vs the zone. later on kobe started to pick away at it but he didn't really get much done. i mean he had a HUGE game but tbh it could've been much, much worse. artest did alright, but the lakers got exposed for being a two man team (kobe + gasoft) in temrs of reliability. fisher shot well, but he was a prick on defense so i don't want to give him too much credit. if he could foul nash any more without getting called even banks would start saying they've never seen worse robberies.

the nashette bench could've done better. if they'd played well, it would've been a complete beatdown.

is bynum injured? why wasn't he playing more? odom is faster and much, much more talented, but bynum is a beast and he might've been good vs the zone. (nn to move when you can sit in the key like a gorilla all day and dunk).

imo keep throwing zone at the lakers until they start to get buckets from anyone other than kobe and gasol. i think the lakers came back down to earth from the arc b/c they got less open looks. they look much better when nobody defends them. and normally artest isn't a knock down shooter afaik. i thought the suns would need to go nuts in transition and 3s to win and yet they managed to win without doing either a lot. they did alright in transition but they were more patient than usual. what i liked about them in zone was that it gave them a chance to be smart on defense, rather than scared like hell.
