I need some profession help. I want to be able to put specific profs to a good character. Like for example my BE Pally Tank has Mining and BlackSmithing, and Mining gives him a 5% stamina boost. Thats the kind of good pairing I am looking for, if there is anymore like it.

My characters are the following:
68 BE Pally Tank -- Mining/BlackSmithing
34 Orc Hunter
30 BE Rogue
24 BE Mage
33 Troll Priest -- Enchanting/Inscripition

I want all my characters to have all professions, so need some help.
Characters to come are a Druid, Warlock, Shaman, DK and whatever else. So if anything fits good for them, let me know too.

Druid = Herbalism (you get a bonus to skill and you don't break flight form while herbing)

All of your other toons don't really matter. Do your professions however you want.

Tailoring on cloth toons is good. Leatherworking on mail/leather toons is good. Things of that nature.

If you are going to raid one day on a toon, then you can always change that toons professions to whatever is best for min/max but you're a far, far way from that.

everything is pretty standardized so everyone can get an equal bonus

engi is good for everything, as well as alchemy
tailoring is good for casters
blacksmithing and jewelcrafting are good for everything, but are even better if you are a class who itemizes for a bonus that you cant get from other proffessions (ex. armor pen, haste)

ArP is being removed next expansion (later in WotLK actually).

I like the Druid one, thanks.
@task, so are you saying I should put Engineering and my Hunter together? Cause I heard at a later level I will need Armor Pen.

Another question, now what are good prof pairs? Obviously Mining/Blacksmithing seem to work great. I already have inscription/enchanting. So can either of you name all my characters/soon to be characters and all the profs and just put 2 on whatever char?

gathering professions are pretty much obsolete, if you want to maximize your stats in terms of pve/pvp you need two crafting professions

since youre new though you probably dont have a better way to make gold

Think of it in more of terms you can easily farm & craft for yourself since you are new, worry about raiding professions later. Such as Skinning / Leatherworking on a Hunter or Rogue. Herbalism / Alchemy on a Druid. Mining / Jewelcrafting on anything really. You can always drop the farming profession (Skinning / Herbalism / Mining) later if you get into serious raiding.

profs are pretty much independent once you have them fully leveled, which you can buy with gold or farm yourself

if you want to level with profs that will feed each other
herbs -> alch/inscription
mining -> engi/bs/jewelcrafting
skinning -> leatherworking

Ah ok.
For gold if I ever need it I plan on just buying, but never had a moment where I've needed a lot of gold yet. And Im just wanting to do all professions to try em all out and max em all.

I'm not worried about raiding profs at all right now. But if I can set myself up so I wont have to switch profs half way through me doing them, I'd like that a lot.
I'll take your advice on the Hunter/Rogue and Druid. Anything I dont have that goes with Jwelcrafting well? Cause I don't really want to re-do Mining again

It will close a lot of gold probably, and it might take you a while to do if there are no materials (lots of late vanilla materials are hard to get) on your AH. Might want to take the toon you already have mining on and farm some for yourself.

go tailoring/jc on the mage instead of engi/jc
once your hunter is 80 (or 85), you can switch to engi from skinning if you want

68 BE Pally Tank  -- Mining/BlackSmithing
34 Orc Hunter -- Skinning/Leatherworking
24 BE Mage -- Engineering/Jewelcrafting
33 Troll Priest  -- Enchanting/Inscripition
1 Druid -- Alchemy/Herblore

All good? Am I missing any professions?

go tailoring/jc on the mage instead of engi/jc
once your hunter is 80 (or 85), you can switch to engi from skinning if you want

Why?

and if you are playing 4 or 5 characters at once, you will have more cloth than you know what to do with, while gathering the materials for engi will take you way out of your way
