Kill Order is falling apart.

Influence going to be #1 Horde side by default.

my point is, i really hate when people say "i quit, now watch me make fun of you and turn my nose down at you for doing exactly what i used to do not very long ago"

i quit, but will probably buy cataclysm and reach level cap and raid for a couple months, doubt i will stay through to 4.1 though

could stay away if i wanted, just have to control what you put into it, the worst part about wow to me was the mindset that every minute of my time in life was somehow valuable for playing games, so just chilling or watching tv for a few hours felt like i wasnt accomplishing my potential in not accomplishing anything

turning down things that arent wow, even if you dont particularly care to do them, is the killer

im not going to buy cataclysm, it doesnt matter what the new content is like the game in general is going to be the same and will affect me the same way wotlk did

also if i stayed on girugamesh i would have been raiding with influence and had that much more of a responsibility. full time job + drug problem = no room for other bullshit like girlfriends or gaming responsibilities

all the hype is so annoying, the last 6 months of the expansions seem so dull and boring because youve been hearing about whats coming up for so long

TBH

I'm still trying to get my Mimiron's Head, collect nerd points, etc.

I wouldn't mind if Cataclysm was a year away.

Got the VoA mount on my DK today. People were not happy someone ninja'd it to me.

Depends on your goals.

You're fault (much like my own) is the achievement system, we see that and feel we need to have those "accomplishments", else we are wasting our time. And it takes a long time to get lots of them.

yep
or, more simply, raiding is not a 4 hour a week pastime if you want to be non-terrible (unless ofc you can find a bunch of veterans who all want to do that)

Think about what you're saying and compare it to 3.3 content.

honestly though i wish i could play wow like 2 hours a couple nights a week and not have that be a waste because you cant accomplish much with that time frame

Depends on your goals.

You're fault (much like my own) is the achievement system, we see that and feel we need to have those "accomplishments", else we are wasting our time. And it takes a long time to get lots of them.

yep
or, more simply, raiding is not a 4 hour a week pastime if you want to be non-terrible (unless ofc you can find a bunch of veterans who all want to do that)

it was in my guild pre-ulduar

full clear of naxx, malygos, sarth 3d all on tuesday from 8pm-12am est

Think about what you're saying and compare it to 3.3 content.

cata -> 10 man
10 man -> short

Confirm

And that 10 man raiding setup also seems very conducive to people who like to play ALTs (complete all raid content on 2-3 nights with 2-3 toons) if you choose to do it.
