Ohio State President Gee said today ( Wed ) that TCU and Boise shouldn't be considerants for the NCG because they don't deserve it. He said OSU should be considered above them. He said " we ( OSU ) don't play a schedule of "the sisters of the poor". ( backhandedly claiming that TCU and BSU do )

BSU's President shot back and said " that's absolutely ridiculous. The man is posturing. I don't think Virginia Tech would appreciate that. We play who'll ever play us."

TCU's President shot back and said " I think it's great that he's pointing fingers at us. It means we've arrived. It means we're relevant. We've strung 2 back-to-back undefeated seasons together. The man is jealous. If he wants to cancel the 1-AA games he has scheduled every year and play TCU, we'll gladly play Ohio State anywhere, anytime. "

Funny, except for (1) he's just saying what most of us feel. They aren't in BCS conferences, and their conference schedules are somewhat lacking in that regard, and (2) he's actually a brilliant man, though the bow-ties have to go.

Let's rag on him for actually having the balls to not kiss their asses. Sounds cool.

Yeah, because we played a 1-aa team this year.
And, we're playing one next year too!
I forgot.

Nevermind their CONFERENCE schedule is the issue at hand here, and has been.

Also, hasn't Boise made that same argument, then it turned out they expected Nebraska to be some sort of payday that creampuff teams get? Sorry, this is pure posturing imho by an other kid who wants to be at the big kids table.

They often play middling teams non-conference that the big conference teams have to play week in, week out. They wind up with two opponents who is just a regular two weeks for the other conferences, then they get to go play the have nots for the rest of their season.

Do I like how the system is set up? No. However ragging on non conference schedules for the power conferences when they spend the better part of their season playing teams that would be a top team (if not THE top) in the sisters of the poor conferences is just silly. You can't really equate the two.

That is why (even though they're not as good as we though they were) I applaud Utah, for realizing they needed to gtfo from a weak conference and move to the Pac-10. You want to play with the big boys? Then get your stuff in order to join a big boy conference.

We're slowly moving to where there will be maybe 4-5 "real" conferences, most likely subsisting of 16 teams or so, the little guy can't even hope to compete then. Join up or be happy with your occasional non title BCS berth.

Hey, isn't TCU going to run the Big East year in, year out soon? That'll give them a better shot than they have now at a NC.

*just in case it wasn't apparent....the Big East part is sarcasm. Big East is BAD. M.West actually would be more deserving of a AQ IF they could have kept BYU and Utah in conference.

They pilfered Boise and Nevada, right? BYU, TCU, Utah, Nevada, and Boise isn't a bad lineup. Those five are definately head and shoulders better than at least the big East's top five. The bottom teams would still be garbage, but 5 quality teams that will flirt with the rankings most years, and usually produce one or two top 10 teams isn't the worst thing in the world at all.

I think instead of taking all day with these fucks by either ranging them or meleeing them, I'll go kill the baby blacks while loading up on green hides/bones. Hell, I'll use a fire tit and get some MAGE xp just to spite them.

:donno: It if were a smaller amount I'd be more inclined to give a shit.

donno, blacks never took too long in zanaris, and since its safe spot you dont need a dragon shield, just bring excaliber incase you get hit whenst picking up bones

You guys are arguing over a broken system anyways.

Who cares, just say we need playoffs and then we have productive discussion.

The power conferences dont want it, and unless Oregon loses ton8 they will avoid a non power conference team in the national championship game yet again. That to me is the only way the hand is forced to go to a playoff system, but as long as the big boys keep winning and bringing in the big bucks nothing will change.

Don't count out SC against Auburn in the SEC champ game.

It was 35-27 the first time around.

I know, I just dont see it

Yeah, I don't either. But holding out hope. Of course after today... got that whole "season of destiny" vibe.

Because I don't want Auburn in the NC game. Outside of Cam Newton, they don't seem to have much. Plus, sorry, but too much controversy surrounding him. Might turn out to be nothing, but I'd rather not have another bad taste in my mouth ala USC.

Then TCU shits up your high and mighty power conference party. So unless they get embarrassed your team loses because there will be tons of BCS backlash.
