Get some for me. Too poor and can't make it to whole foods today anyways. All I have is the rest of that crappy holiday pack from Lennies and some Winter Warmer by Mich that supposedly is aged in Oak Burbon caskets but I call major shenanigans on that.


what beer?


Winter Bourbon Cask Ale - You can taste the vanilla, really can't pick out any nuances of being in a wood barrel, nor is there really a burboun taste. There is a boozy tang in there, but it's quickly blown away by the taste of what I can only describe as stale Mich ultra.

Ended up getting some more of Sam Adams Winter Lager though, which is pretty nice imho. Shame I didn't take the rest home with me, back to fuckin' Lennies.


Vanilla is an indicator it was in a wood barrel. It is a flavor produced from wood and the same flavor in imitation vanilla


According to the label they used Madagascar Vanilla beans, which is where I'd assume the vanilla comes in from. There is no earthy or woody undertones that I could detect. And again, that gives way to what just tastes like Stale Mich.

No, I gotcha, I just assumed the vanilla was from the beans. No worries. Obv still working on my beer palette.
