sorry for buzzfeed but this was the best place in the world ive ever seen. i want to -- no, i NEED to go back. i want to study the people who live there, do a sociological analysis or something. it's fascinating. it was a life changing experience. i slept on a fucking boat in international waters in a bed with 8 mixed-gender half naked hippies using body heat because there was no furnace. i smoked with people from all over the world. i was invited to live with them and travel to Morocco after knowing them for 3 days. i fucked a certifiably inane but sexy hippie Danish girl who rocked my world and blew my mind. she wanted to make me a soldier in her crusade against "the system" and apparently thought she could honeypot me into it. it worked. i hope she's pregnant. i love this place. i'm going back as soon as I can. If I have the time and money I might literally move there in the spring (once it is warm enough to live that lifestyle).

we have a serious urban/rural divide in this country. the rural people cant wrap their head around that they are overwhelmingly white also, which makes everything seem like a racial divide too. rural people also dont need government the same way urban people need city services. clearly sure how we bring these 2 demographics together. im guessing we dont, we just wait for the baby boomers to die (edit for clarity: since they are the party of no compromise)...

on a side note, i heard of a supreme court case about a states voting districts and it being argued that the rural vote was more powerful than an urban vote since the proportion of a single vote meant less to an urban person. i wonder how that ratio would be when applied across america.
