we have a serious urban/rural divide in this country.  the rural people cant wrap their head around that they are overwhelmingly white also, which makes everything seem like a racial divide too.  rural people also dont need government the same way urban people need city services.  clearly sure how we bring these 2 demographics together.  im guessing we dont, we just wait for the baby boomers to die (edit for clarity:  since they are the party of no compromise)...

on a side note, i heard of a supreme court case about a states voting districts and it being argued that the rural vote was more powerful than an urban vote since the proportion of a single vote meant less to an urban person.  i wonder how that ratio would be when applied across america.

I didn't mean to do that at all. But we did just elect someone who didn't actually run on any substantial policy (build a wall), and is essentially a reality TV star. One of his main appeals is that he just says anything, like us regulars. Hubris and being a proud bully shouldn't be a desired trait for the leader of the free world. Obviously many picked him as a protest vote too, and I get that.

Idiocracy comment was really directed at the bold and proud disbelief of science. Climate change is a hoax, started by the Chinese etc. Okay.
