ITT: Mos thinking he knows shit and getting enraged because he doesn't. Just another fat kid raging at the world.

Good job.

Punishing innocents is by far and away the way to go. This is an awesome cycle, let's keep doing it.

I'd proclaim that I'm not mad but who cares.

Who are the innocents you speak of, the molestation victims or the athletic department?

the innocents are the potential football players in the future

Football players on the team now aside (who should rightly be granted the ability to transfer out immediately), keep in mind football pays for ALL other athletics, especially now since title 9 has been in effect. You think any of those other sports are making money? Really? Plus most other sports you aren't on a full ride. I know when I was offered a scholarship for track from Kent St it didn't cover all of my tuition.

Those people will be vastly effected by this, but it's ok, because again, punishing additional innocents is the way to go.
What about business owners in the area? Their children? They asked for this as well?

Do I need to continue the trickle down ad-infinitum or...this isn't just as simple as everyone makes it out to be.

I'm not saying the athletic department is innocent. I'm not sure where Nick even got that idea.

Also, Re: MOS. I went to OSU, and actually hung out with a number of players from the 1997-2004 era.(Not all the time, I'm not going to claim that) Among those whom I actually wound up at where they were living at the time, a whole 2 had digs that were well above and beyond what I'd expect from typical college students.

Katzenmoyer, who no shit, was paid. And Scotty McMullen, who's family had money. Actually that party was pretty LOL because Nugent had missed a gw fg and this really huge guy who got obliterated kept wandering around outside screaming "WHEREEES NUGENT!!!!!!!!!!!".

Oh, and Stanley Jackson was a midget. People talk about Troy Smith being small....Stanley wasn't much taller than me.

stop trying to make weak arguments to satisfy your preconceived notions, you are better than that. allow me to extrapolate your analogy to a real world scenario.

hi, i have a wife and 2 kids. i also have my brother and his wife and kids living in my basement. during my off time i like to invite neighborhood kids over to my bathroom. they really seem to like my shower. but you cant punish me because im the only person in the house who makes enough to pay the rent. it would be unfair to make all my dependents have to find other housing simply because i like to shower with little boys.

ill let you draw the comparisons.

Ohio State sells memorabilia to make some cash (gets raped). Penn State covers up child molestation for years.

I don't see how you can argue the NCAA would be wrong to make some sanctions/punishment.

However, with the punishments that could be laid down. Kids should be allowed to transfer, even if it is past deadline imo.

i dont think anyone would ever penalize an entire university and tell all the current athletes and students "sorry, get fucked. you cant transfer".

They should do more than that in this situation.

I have never said the university shouldn't be held accountable. All I am saying they need to do what they can so that we're not punishing/harming other innocents.

For some reason that seems to have gotten lost in this conversation.

there is no way to remove the potential innocents from this. the blame, however, rests on the institution and not the eventual regulators and the penalty they will impose. when large entities are not more important that the people involved then we will have made serious progress.

but they are right, its not fair. and the real justice would be they all ragequit penn state thus crippling the institution thus showing other institutions that they are infact not above the people that surround them.

instead idiorts will blame regulators (aka liberals) and claim that the jobs were more important and not blame penn state who valued itself over those very same jobs.

yeah, life isn't fucking unfair, it wasn't unfair those boys were raped either

ruining more lives only proves that we will not stand for this madness

letting them go on happily sweeping it under the rug proves that we don't give a shit those boys lives were ruined and will promote others to continue committing these sins

typical damned if you do and damned if you dont scenario

that should be worse imo and for a duration equal to the coverup

4 year bowl ban
monetary penalty
probation
arbitrary "you actually lost those games"

ohh, okay

missed the scholarship penalty
-10 for for years

that should be worse imo and for a duration equal to the coverup
at least this makes it a little better

Dont worry, the big ten is gonna sanction too in 30 minutes!

big ten penalty:
"you bad"

this is kinda bullshit altogether imo
i feel like all of this is just punishing existing students and athletes and pretty much anyone eho graduated from there - it's gonna have that stigma for years

Big ten sanctions

"We agree with the NCAA and want to have a press release so we are restating what they said plus taking another 13million a year. Pardon us while we play the bureaucracy bullshit game to perfection and pat our own backs for doing so"

paterno was trying to save the school's image, he didn't condone raping kids... im sure he met with sandusky and was like "look, we know what you are doing, and stop, or we will fire you (or some other threat)", and then he didnt stop so they fired him.

paterno was doing what he thought was least damaging, and thought chatting with what he thought was a reasonable man would fix the issue.

yes he did the wrong action, but i think if you were in that situation it would be much more difficult a decision than you all seem to think it is
